NOTES: ‘Depart de Mathilde et du Roi Richard pour la Terre Sainte’,a French historical print illustrating an incident relating to the third Crusade. If we have got our history right, the print depicts Richard the Lionheart collecting his younger sister Matilda, daughter of Eleanor of Aquitaine, before they set off on his Crusade to the Holy Land. Matilda does not look to keen, perhaps not surprisingly!
CONDITION: A good impression, the print has been cut within the platemark and laid down on stiff cartridge paper, there is an old fold mark at the top and some creases on the text area.
